Besides a nature photographer, Daniel De Granville Manço is a Biologist, ecotourism guide and environmental consultant, working with photography since 1996.
His interest for the activity became more intense as he spent five years in the Pantanal (1994-1999), when he worked for several professional photographers, taking advantage of these opportunities to learn and improve his skills.
During the year of 2003 he worked as a guide, photo assistant and production coordinator for the National Geographic Magazine, having spent four months in the Pantanal of Brazil with photographer Joel Sartore for a story which was published in the August 2005 issue of this magazine. At the end of the same year, Daniel was hired again by the National Geographic, this time with Colombian photographer Luis Mazariegos, who is currently working on a story about hummingbirds to be published in 2006. Mazariegos, author of the praised book "Hummingbirds of Colombia" and a specialist on hummingbird photography for over 25 years, is currently considered as the photographer who has the world’s vastest image collection in terms of species of these birds.
